When cleaning and maintaining graphite crucible, you need to pay attention to the following aspects:
Proper Cleaning:
Wait for the crucible to cool down naturally to room temperature before cleaning, avoid operating at high temperature which may cause burns or damage to the crucible.
Use soft brushes or plastic spatulas to gently scrape off residual substances, avoid using hard metal tools to prevent scratching the surface of the graphite crucible.
If cleaning with water is required, make sure that the temperature of the water used is moderate to avoid damage to the crucible caused by sudden temperature changes.
Storage environment:
The graphite crucible should be stored in a dry, ventilated and light-proof place, avoiding direct sunlight and humid environment.
When storing, it is better to place the graphite crucible on a wooden frame or soft cushion to reduce the external impact and friction and prevent the crucible surface from being damaged.
Check before use:
Before using the graphite crucible, its appearance should be carefully checked to see if it is intact and free from cracks, breaks and other phenomena.
Make sure the inside of the graphite crucible is dry and free of debris to avoid adverse reaction or damage to the crucible during the heating process.
Temperature control:
During use, the temperature should be raised and lowered slowly to avoid sudden temperature changes leading to cracks.
The maximum operating temperature recommended by the manufacturer should not be exceeded to avoid material deterioration.
Avoid direct injection of strong oxidizing flame:
Strong oxidizing flames directed at the sides and bottom of the crucible may cause damage to the crucible and should be avoided.
Preheating and Charging:
Preheat the crucible before use to acclimatize it to the high temperature environment and avoid damage caused by direct heating.
Charging should be done according to the capacity and shape of the crucible to avoid overcharging or too tightly packed, which may lead to uneven heating or expansion and cracking of the crucible.
Discharge tools and tongs:
Discharge tools and tongs should conform to the shape of the crucible to avoid damage to the crucible due to excessive localized force when clamping.
Regular inspection and maintenance:
Regularly inspect and maintain the graphite crucible, if cracks, breakage and other problems are found, it should be replaced or repaired in time.
For the graphite crucible which has not been used for a long time, it should be heated regularly to keep its performance stable.
